The best student accommodation now comes with 24/7 on-site security, a 24-hour gym, organised social get-togethers, and a receptionist who knows everyone’s name.

Glasgow is seen by investors as a ‘student property investment hotspot’, as it has a chronic shortage of purpose-built accommodation. Select Property Group has addressed this need and created a sought-after setting for a student community in the city’s West End, just 500m from the University of Glasgow.

The £70 million Beith Street development is the 10th and largest project under the company’s Vita Student brand, which is described as ‘experience led’. Select Property chief executive Mark Stott commented:

‘The redevelopment of the city's West End presents an outstanding opportunity for us to deliver a legacy of unique and inspirational living environments for the students of Glasgow.’

Designed by ADF Architects, the building, which is faced in terracotta, aluminium and brick, comprises 473 studios and 28 four-bedroom clusters. The modern accommodation is the perfect haven for trend-aware students, who value contemporary appeal. Our Quadra riser door systems – fully prehung metal doors fitted with ironmongery – enhance the sleek look of the interiors.

The architects have envisioned a meeting place for a close-knit community, where important friendships and memories are made. The two-storey Vita Student Hub has been designed as the ideal setting for events including international food evenings, fashion shows, gaming nights and parties.

As Anthony Gardner of The Telegraph observed:

‘This is student life, but not as previous generations knew it. Each of Vita’s studio flats has an en-suite bathroom. Your personal kitchenette is equipped with a fridge, hob and microwave oven. You don’t have to sit in the laundry room while your socks go round and round, because Vita’s app notifies you when the machine has finished.’

Vita is well-known for delivering what students seek. In 2015, Vita Student Manchester was named Private Halls of the Year, voted by the students of Manchester. Trevor Moore, Chief Operating Officer at Select Property and Chief Executive of Vita Student, commented at the time:

‘We understand that fantastic accommodation can add to the overall university experience, and so we’re unwavering in our commitment to providing our customers with exceptional service.’
