The premium apartments of Paddington Exchange were created with the ultimate city lifestyle in mind, with some of the best bars, restaurants and shops mere steps away.
Located in London’s Paddington Basin area, on North Wharf Road, this development by Taylor Wimpey Central London is the first stage of a masterplan for the 1.48 hectare site. Three towers graduate in height towards the Regent’s Canal, from 8 to 14 storeys, with a mix of affordable and private accommodation.
The apartments include one to three bedrooms with a terrace or balcony, to maximise the panoramic views. Natural light streams into the rooms via the floor-to-ceiling windows and the structural glass balustrades. Many of the apartments have dual aspects.
Our Enigma pocket sliding doors were selected to facilitate optimal room layouts, enabling the architects to make the most of the floor space. These doors feature in bathrooms that are set in bedrooms, and in hallways for an ultra-sleek solution. This door system is offered in three styles: visible, concealed and shadow gap. The Enigma systems were supplied with a pre-finished solid oak frame to match the oak veneered door leafs and provided with an offset detail to accommodate tiles in the bathrooms.
Taylor Wimpey Central London appointed Bouygues UK to deliver the £55m Paddington Exchange project. One of the key benefits that Taylor Wimpey offers clients is confidence in delivery. Timescales are key. The Enigma pocket door system has been made simple to specify and install, so precious time is saved on site. In this way, we supported our customer’s key USP of delivering the project on time. Also, their attention to detail and knowledge of the London market meant every detail of these luxury apartments was chosen with special insight.
Ingrid Skinner, managing director of Taylor Wimpey Central London, commented that Paddington Exchange is one of the largest and most innovative projects in their portfolio, reflecting their commitment to create ‘genuinely high quality and sustainable new communities across Central London’.
